What is the Side Pot?

A side pot occurs once a player goes all-in and other players that have more money than the money put down by the player that went all-in continue betting "on the side". The side pot is separate from the main pot as only the players that put money in the side pot will be able to collect winnings from the side pot upon winning the hand. The player that went all-in and never contributed to the side pot will only be able to take the money in the main pot when he/she wins. If there are multiple all-in players, multiple side pots can potentially be created.
